Ok, I'm going to defend Cait Sith who is possibly the most hated character in Final Fantasy VII. I actually found him to be one of the more interesting characters. I'm actually kind of nervous about doing this. We'll see how it goes.

Yay for this defense! I found him an intriguing character too, for many of the reasons you stated. I especially enjoyed the conversation between him and Barret about the results of blowing up the reactors.

I liked Cait Sith a lot, too--I think a lot of it might be that he (or, well, his mog) looks like a giant marshmallow to me. I also like his character--like you said, he confronted Barret about all the people that had been killed in Reactor #1. I think his limit breaks are cool, and I never noticed that he was weaker than anyone else--I always figured if any character wasn't doing much damage, I hadn't leveled him up enough or bought him a cool enough weapon ( ... )

(I'm not exactly eloquent this morning, I know. I just wanted to let you know that I totally agree with what you just said. Take a cookie. ^.-)

Dude, wtf? CAIT SITH IS FTW. Favorite character in the game, hands down (but then, I have a weird thing when Cait is concerned). Super word to everything. Besides, what's not to love about a stuffed cat that talks down to everyone?

Cait's "death" is still one of my favorite scenes, actually. Soooo dramatic. And then, Cait Sith #2. XD

Another Cait Sith fan here! I really loved him for the parts you mention where he shows how much he cares about the ordinary people. And Reeve clearly has a sense of humor, picking that form :)
