These journals are incredibly convenient. In case I have not introduced myself properly, my name is Julusmole Bayhan, 4th year Ravenclaw. I formerly attended Durmstrang Institute, so forgive me for any cultural irregularities I may be harboring; I assure you they are unintentional ( Read more... )

Welcome to Hogwarts! It has its quirks, but overall this is a very good school.

England is a beautiful place. I've never been outside the UK (save Japan). Maybe you could tell us about what it's like Durmstrang.

Thank you for the welcome. My first impressions have been incredibly positive indeed.

I lived in England for some years when I was very young, but I remember very little. Durmstrang was ... well, certainly different in atmosphere, but nevertheless quite an acceptable learning environment. Classes were quite rigorous but well taught, though the winters were very bitter at times as we do not light fires unless they are needed for magical uses...

On the other hand, I myself have never been to the far east; I would be very curious to hear about your experiences in Japan as well. I take it you have some heritage there?

Fires only for magical purposes? Ooo, rough!

I was born in Japan, actually. We moved to the UK when I was eight.

It's really pretty there, and the people very nice. We lived up near the mountains so we experienced all the changes in the seasons, with spring being the best time because of the cherry blossom trees blooming. Nowadays I spend part of my summer there, visiting my family.

As a former transfer student, Hogwarts can be disorienting.

I am the 5th year male prefect for Ravenclaw, so if you need assistance in adjusting to anything, feel free to let me know.

I find that getting to classes is incredibly complicated at times (the stairs seem to lead in different directions according to their whims), and the climb to the dorms is quite a challenge... but I believe I will be able to adjust myself accordingly.

Thank you for the kind offer of assistance, however. I will keep it in mind.

Oh my god I did not even see this, sorry! 1/3 kid8dik April 7 2011, 08:40:35 UTC
The design of the castle is completely troublesome! There was absolutely no thought to a sort of aesthetically appealing design! The stairs move without regard to whether they are going in their proper place, the placement of the towers isn't balanced in the slightest!

Welcome, Julusmole! My name is Tamaki Suou. Where did you live before coming here?

Ah, please feel free to call me Juli if you wish; Julusmole is my full name but I rarely use it day-to-day. Your welcome is very much appreciated, Tamaki.

I am originally from Weisbaden in Germany, but I was studying at Durmstrang Institute before my transfer here.
