Do hand tools have to cost as much as their power tool equivalents?

Does anyone local on my friends list have a jointer or the appropriate hand plane(s)?

I have some 3/4" stock that I need to prep to make drawer fronts and I'm not foolish enough to think that lumber comes square enough to use, though I did get lucky on my drawer boxes.

2.) Put on your sunglasses, the sun has been causing solar glare issues there for weeks.
