dreaming materialism

this morning my alarm woke me up from a dream in which I had just found two eames chairs on the side of the street and was about to take them home. right after I turned off the alarm I was vaguely & half-awakely trying to figure out some way that I could go back and get those chairs out of my dream. sad.

I'm ashamed to say that I have similar recurring dreams. They usually focus on me making an excellent find like that on the street or in a thrift store, but only being on a bicycle or on foot so I have no way to take them home and no one will come get them for me but I don't want to leave lest someone else snap them up!

one time daniel eames found an eames chair on the street when he was still living at his parents' house. he was on his bike but he carried it home on his back while biking somehow. at least that's how I remember the story, this was years ago.

I'm glad that you have dreams like this too. it makes me feel less silly.

I bet you have dreams about the expedit. I also bet you would try to carry one home on your back if you found it on the street and had no other way to transport it.

I probably wouldn't bet money on these things though.
