Yeeeah. I'm with you on the doujinshi scans thing. I want to scan more of mine just so I don't have to dig them out of the very heavy and awkwardly high box I have them in every time I want to reread them. And having them in ENGLISH well that would be lovely. And then there's a few that just, the story is so good and look how perfectly it fits into the canon and everyone needs to read this for the feels... But then I remember that it's doujinshi and I feel guilty. (That, and breaking spines still sends me in a tizzy.)

...The last couple books I got though have a couple short-y, 4koma type things in em. Those I wouldn't feel bad about doing.

(And this reminds me I need to update my list again. Drat.)

...I don't think I've ever actually stopped and LOOKED at what Mad Hatter is doing either, save for in passing. *cough* Need to rectify that.

Yeah, breaking spines is still the worst part of all. I still don't trust myself to do it. Instead, I know the person from MHS that does the debinding. She lives in the same state as me and has lots of experience with debinding and rebinding. Therefore all my doujins are sent to her for scanning. I don't expect to see them come back in perfect shape, but I think it will be a lot better than if I did it for myself (and I won't feel bad if they DO come back looking good). The only things I scan are my official anthologies. The spines end up a little bent, but it could be worse

oOoOo, thanks for the heads up! Yey for translations! ^^ I have to admit, I can't read a lick of Japanese. But after having played the games (with the use of a translator) plus reading reviews, I can pretty much tell what's going on via poses and knowing the storyline.

Still, it's nice to be able to find out if I have been reading into things correctly this entire time, heh.

Considering it looks like Mad Hatter Scans won't do licensed manga/doujinshi, I don't think there's a moral dilemma. And it's good to see someone taking the time to consider such things ^^

Yeah, having the poses for context is a life saver. Even though I am learning as I go, pictures have saved me so many times, it's not funny XD.

That's one of the things I love about MHS. They have some solid morals. They want people to support the creators when the chance arrives. I feel like as long as the group is like this, we can be a positive influence toward bringing otome games overseas.

The only reason I worry about the doujinshi is because I know it won't get licensed and that the Circles providing them hardly make any money off of them to begin with. They make these doujins out of their love for a fandom. I don't want to spit on that. It would make me feel better if I had enough knowledge to be able to contact the Circles to ask for their permission first.

Also, I don't know if you ever took an interest in Black Wolves Saga, but eventually MHS will release a couple doujin scanlations for that series as well. There may also be some other otome game series doujinshi in the future. We've gotten into a doujinshi craze lol.
