I used to do that! God, I hated it. The job itself was fine, but the manager... and the mall. Ugh. There's some Cher song that makes me twitch every time I hear it thanks to it playing ten thousand times in the mall.
I do worry about a possible New Depression. But I'm grateful to my grandma for telling me stories of growing up in Kansas during the Depression. She wore potato-sack dresses. She was also proud of her background-- a long line of strong Irish women. They ran from the Potato Famine and made lives for themselves out of whatever they could find. If they can do it, we can too.
I know that no matter what happens, I'll do what I can to keep the Black Drop going. Maybe fancy coffee is a luxury people can give up during hard times, but I hope in your case they don't. The place itself -- a little community center -- is just what we need to keep ourselves sane during hard times.
