I love it that you do this! Thank you so much for all your efforts.

And thank you for your kind words about the sshg_exchange. We're proud of it, and it does produce some really outstanding fic and art (and even a few crafts, too!) ~grin~

This will probably be the last year I do this list--but hey I kept the spreadsheet up this year--and my reading so...

The sshg_exchange imo is the bright spot in the ship. As with the list, I doubt I'll ever participate as a writer in an HP exchange again--I recently got a reminder of the hell-that-can-be-writer's-block-on-deadline--but as a reader it was a great pleasure and it has been great for the ship.

I've been busy helping run the ronpansy_fest this month and pulling my hair at times--and tis a tiny ship so it's a TENTH the size. How you, Shiv, and GinnyW don't wind up in straighjackets by the end of the sshg_exchange I just don't know--but I'm all the more appreciative now.

I hate to hear this; I'd mentally dubbed you the fandom's librarian. You're the only one who kept such detailed records. ;)

Oh, never doubt that there are behind-the-scenes raving, ranting and the occasional loud shriek. ~grin~ It helps that we have each other to listen while we vent.

The slap/reward ratio in this ship has never been all that favorable to me frankly--I might try really hard to make an effort to finally finish my WIP and then if I get more bunnies for HP fic, try lying down until they die of starvation Staying invested in the ship for me is a little like staying with an abusive boyfriend so...

Mind you, it's not like all fandoms aren't equally crazy--I'm just hoping in my next one I'll remember to keep the shields up and walk around vewy, vewy quietly--I really don't want to be the librarian--I want to be the frequently checked out book.

*grins* Oh, I thank God for silburygirl, let me tell ya!

Woohoo! Another awesome list to browse and refresh my memory and all that. :-D And a lot of these I haven't read at all.

I do have one question about The Hogwarts' ‘Girls’ Night’ Slumber Party Gone Wild - I vaguely recall reading the first chapter ages ago, and it seemed very much Snape & a whole bunch of OFCs, in spite of being in the Potions under Duress category. Has it turned SSHG later on?

I don't know--it's not a fic that held me for long--I didn't stay with it. I tried all the fics on this post--but didn't read through all of them if I didn't think it worth my while. I assumed that because it's in the Potions Under Duress category that the fic includes SSHG.

No offense to the participants--there are some top authors there--but in my experience it's pretty unheard of for Round Robins to produce anything good--even if there's no weak link, there is almost invariably a clash of styles.

This must have taken a really long time to put together. On behalf of readers everywhere, thank you!

You're welcome--not so much time as you think given it was just part of my reading to put the stories on the spreadsheet. I hope you'll be able to find some good stories through the post.

This is quite impressive; I doff my witch's hat to you. SSHGers everywhere owe you a debt. Sorry to hear you might be leaving the fandom, though!

I have guides for all the different eras--and all this started just because a friend asked if there really were epics stories post-HBP any near as good as the ones before--this was just before Deathly Hallows came out. Just so happens I know how to search for works above 100k in the ship by posting date on FFN--and I found there weren't that many actually--and since I entered the ship around that time, I had read most of them--so not much trouble to delve into the rest, and since I went through that trouble I thought I'd post on it--just the HBP epics mind you...

And then renitaleandra egged me on...

Sorry to hear you might be leaving the fandom, though! As much as I love bringing attention to good stories in my ship, and hoping that will inspire people, I think when you're a writer in a fandom, and what you get consistent praise for is lists of others' works, it's kinda a hint you should put your investment of time elsewhere--especially when you have an unfavorable slap/pet ratio ( ... )
