She's learned that now she just has to survive the club. Not fix it or better it; just survive it.

That is the saddest line in this whole thing; I mean, oh my god, my heart breaks for her even more. The fact that she's not only acknowledging that she can only pick and choose who and what kind of trust she gives out to people. I just want to hug her.

But this was perfect, dude. Her dads! Her understanding about fitting in and protecting them - jesus, really. I just want to hug her and make sure it's all sunshine and NYC. adk;lajds;lkajs

That line was the truest and hardest to type. I don't think Rachel has the same mindset about what the club is compared to what she thought it'd be. I almost didn't want to put it in the fic after I wrote it bc ~too harsh, but it felt the truest sentence in the whole thing.

HER DADS. WHERE ARE THESE MEN, WHO IS SEE AS SO SUPER SUPPORTIVE (and kinda her real best friends because I want to believe she has that support system.) and also how is her family life so ignored when it's central to the character -- see my theory on how part of rachel's exclusion as a child is bc she had to dads.

SUNSHINE AND NYC.

and this is what kills me the most. That Rachel has always been there to help them when needed, always willing to put in that extra time, but it is coming down to this.

I loved her dads in here! And how you fleshed them out, and how Rachel is so Rachel. She can't turn that role down, she can't. I love this.

I want so much more for her dads!!! I want to mee them! And she can't turn down the role in her mind, because it would be turning down her dream and that's not how Rachel functions.

Thank you!

This is really lovely. The little bit of Brittany that we get is charming, but what really gets me is Rachel's thoughts about Santana. That she knows that Santana doesn't want reassurance from her is really heartbreaking.

Thank you! I'm glad you liked that bit of Brittany. I think it's really heartbreaking too but Rachel is also very aware of where she stands with these people.

I really like this. It makes so much sense that Rachel's isolation started because she had two dads and WHEN THE FUCK ARE WE GOING TO MEET THEM IN THE SHOW?

ARE WE EVER GOING TO MEET THEM?

Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves about Glee. It feels like they're SCARED to show gay parents in case that ~upsets people or something. And her dads, as you show, are so integral to her identity and who she is.

This is such a sad story, there's so much disappointment in it, and I worry for Rachel because she's still not sure how to make or keep friends.

I think her isolation started out very young too because people weren't accepting of her dads either. AndI"m so sad w STILL haven't met them.

I just wish for all the good things for Rachel. Poor bb.

First glee fic I've read in a long time and it aches. Oh Rachel, you deserve so much more than the show is willing to give you (actually, that's probably true for all of the characters).

The scene with Santana was especially poignant for me, and idk if it's because I always wanted them to be friends, but the idea that Rachel gets it but still knows Santana will just blow whatever she has to say off? D: MY HEART.

Rachel's dads were excellent, too- I definitely think they're a missed opportunity on the show, for a lot of characters and not just Rachel- and I really like how you fleshed them out here.

Wonderful ♥

It hurts me too, it hurts me too! I just... want the show to be better to her (to all the characters really). NGL, the scene with Santana was the first scene that popped into my head for this fic and I've wanted to write them but where they are in the show it's very very hard to put them in a place where they could see each other as someone the other could talk too. I JUST HAVE TOO MANY FEELINGS FOR THESE GIRLS.

Thanks, hun! I love it when you comment.
