Or as I like to call it, Daniel and Vala meet and proceed to make amazing faces at each other and be awesome for about 45 mins. Aw, but I think the coloring is VERY pretty! Then again...with Shanks & Claudia, you can't really go wrong, can you? :)

LOVES this!!! Such a brilliant episode and Vala's introduction was just EPIC in every way. I ♥ these two like burning! Fruitcakes FTW!!!

I love Vala's intro. Ngl, she's the reason I went back to the show. I had always watched rather casually before she came into the picture. FRUITCAKES 4EVA.

I actually watched Vala's seasons first but yeah...the first 8 seasons sans Vala really don't do much for me :)

She's just taken over an entire battle cruiser by herself and then captures Daniel, like the bamf she is.
OMG yes. Daniel has a thing for powerful women: Sha'uri led a revolution; Princess Shyla was heiress to a monarchy; Ke'ra-Linea destroyed worlds; Vala single-handedly hijacks fully-manned military spacecraft for the male-dominated Lucian Alliance. SRSLY. Too much awesome for Daniel to resist.

All of a sudden she isn't just a random ass space pirate, she's someone who has had her body taken away from her, which she gained back.
Yet again, Daniel's fated to collide with women whom the Goa'uld have parasitized: Sha're, Sarah, Vala. Only Vala prevails. FIERCE BITCH IS FIERCE.

It's the most amazing fight.
Hell yeah. Daniel tries so hard to subdue her without harming her, and Vala gives it to him with everything she's got. Plus, they SOUND like they're having bed-breaking sex if you close your eyes and listen.

No one can conceivably resist Vala, it's why we love her.

Brave, idealistic, and so in over his head. -- this is him basically in all his dealing with her. It's not that he's wimpy or a clever, it's just that VALA IS A WHIRLWIND OF AMAZINGNESS THAT CANNOT BE STOPPED. Their relationship is so give and take and snappy banter. Everything that I love.

serious meta involved in their gender-bending garment-switching, too -- I could probably discuss this at length. I love how they subvert the usual gender roles that we see in most partners relationships.
