Jan 30, 2005 19:20

Huh huh huh...challenge 69...

Okay, so this is actually yesterday's word of the day. Sorry about that; it takes me a while to finish one of these! *g*

Better JudgementBefore Gen, he’d always had a proclivity for falling for the wrong people. He reminds himself of that as he watches Keller’s hand hesitate over the chessboard; he’d been ( Read more... )

First off, wheeeeeeeee. The first EVER Kitestringer drabble.

“Checkmate,” Keller says, with a grin Beecher feels in the pit of his stomach.

That feeling, like losing your balance at a cliff’s edge... he shouldn’t be seeking it out. Still, he smiles back and says “How about a rematch?”

And that....I still don't understand how you so fucking perfectly capture Beecher with just a few words. But you do it. EVERY TIME. And I already told you this, but this SO ROCKS. Boring....my ass.

Thank you so much for posting. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Here's hoping tomorrow's word inspires me.

Thank *you* so much for the feedback! :-) I'm glad you thought it captured Beecher and didn't think it wasn't boring. (We're just going to have to agree to disagree about the boring thing, LOL.)

Love this, that sense of a moth heading straight for the flame, Toby knowing this could be a bad idea but completely unable to resist. Great job.

Thank you! I think we've probably all been there-well, not *there*, exactly (*g*), but you know what I mean: wanting something we know we shouldn't be wanting. I'm glad you thought it came across okay! :-)

Oooh, I got a shiver when Keller said "checkmate." I love that a part of Beecher warns him to be careful, but it's a warning he can't heed, the allure too much to resist. Excellent answer to the challenge.

LOL, and how could I not have noticed that we're up to challenge 69, until you pointed it out. *g*

Thank you! It's pretty easy to sympathize with not being able to resist Keller, you know? *g*

Well, you certainly made good use of that knowledge with your latest drabble! Guh! :-D
