For Orkney cottage residents or visitors

Laurel has made her way home from the Mansion, and is slicing up some carrots for stew. Her hands, however, are obstinately shaking, and eventually she slices her thumb rather deeply. She swears under her breath in a fashion much more Agravain than Laurel in nature, shaking a little harder, face pale.

All is clearly not well.

If Laurel looks outside her window, at one point during the afternoon, she might come across the sight of a familiar figure.

Niko has been restless, and instead of his usual katas on the open grounds, he went for a long hike, which eventually took him to the cottage. He's not cold persay, and he may not knock on the door (what terrible manners) but he certainly will say hello once he knows who lives there.

"Being a love columnist, at the moment," Niko replies with a bit of a smirk. "Which I guess means he's alright."

[hardlyagravated]

"Advice for the masses?"

[ninja_niko]

"Only to one, but he might as well count as a mass, he's so dense."

[hardlyagravated]

She chuckles a bit. "No one I know, I trust."

[ninja_niko]

"No, I don't think so." He almost would add, unfortunately, but.

[hardlyagravated]

"Ah, well. I wish him good luck, regardless."

[ninja_niko]

Nik smiles. "I'm sure he'll need it. At any rate - how has life treated you?"

[hardlyagravated]

"I've been better. But nothing too dire."

[ninja_niko]

"I suppose asking for perfect bliss is asking for too much. Do you want to talk about it? I promise you my lips will be sealed, as always."

[hardlyagravated]

"Oh, just a touch lonely, is all. Nothing to fret over."

[ninja_niko]

"That's enough to warrant action," Niko replies with a smile. "Do you know that you can disturb me at your leisure? I certainly won't mind."

[hardlyagravated]

She smiles. "Thank you. And truly, it is more a problem of my own mind than anything. Most of my family is here, and others I knew from home. I see some of them more here than I did there."

"It's you husband that you miss?" Niko asks, quietly. He's nothing of a lecher, and he's asking as a friend would. He misses Promise too - he knows the feeling.

[hardlyagravated]

She nods. "Aye. But were he here, I doubt I would miss him much less, to be frank. Even back in Britain, he was seldom home."

[ninja_niko]

"I'm sorry to hear that, Laurel," he replies gently. "I'm certain it can't be a reflection on you."
