ambulance lights
My neighbor just left in an ambulance. He's elderly, 91, Italian, doesn't speak English much. His kids are good people, they've stayed around. The last of what the neighborhood used to be. Something to be proud of...dreams that don't come true?
I'm moving back to suburbia and most of my colleagues are horrified. I have two friends from work who at least understand my motivations. It's a huge gamble, especially because right now the plan (or lack therof) means returning to my parents house, but I find myself meditating on Mongtomgery Gentry's "Somthing to Be Proud Of."
