Easy come, easy go.

I had an extra day off yesterday. I go to start the car yesterday and it wouldn't turn on. A guy came to jump it. It was a no go. Had it towed to the shop and was told, after waiting 3 hours, that the starter blew and it effectively drained the battery. Wonderful. My first thought was 'Damn, Jay should be here.' I can handle the car stuff but I ( Read more... )

I feel about the progression of the relationship with his true love though. Felt a little off to me.

My (?jaded?) thoughts about it, which is perhaps more me, were that if this were his "true love" and all that who was so mythically special to him... what was she doing sleeping with a virtual stranger after one pseudo-date while still married to her husband?

I mean, WE know Amsterdam is "all that," or is supposed to be, but she doesn't yet.

Makes her seem shallow, and after all those years and all the women he's loved, I can't see his One True being shallow.

Not to mention that the way this episode was written, the Amarita (?) character seemed better suited to him instead.

Well, I must be jaded, too. I'm a hopeless romantice but even I was like, "Did I miss something?" Like you said she's married. And it didn't seem to me things were so bad that this is justified cheating, if cheating can ever be justified. And it was a psuedo-date. The writers rushed to that point when they didn't need to.

That's what it felt like to me-- rushed.

At this point they don't even know each other, and although he's convinced that she's The One (based on cosmic implication more than anything), he still doesn't know her. And she definitely doesn't know him. :0

I love having a car but I hate having one as well. With my old one, it seemed once one thing went, every friggin year I was shelling out money for something. I hope this doesn't go the same way.

Dude, your tax refund was $1400? I need a husband, stat!

I really like Canterbury's Law, too. It's a smart, smart show and Julianna is just wonderful. I'd forgotten why she's an Emmy winner.

Just so you know...I googled Kristen Lehman (for research) and was SHOCKED to find she's the same age as Dom. Girl looks good for an almost 38 year old. I blame you for them having conversations in my head that I can no longer ignore...

It was actually more but we owed the Feds some money from last year. So having a husband didn't work too well that year. lol

I didn't realize she was his age either until I googled her for my fic. And you can thank me later for those conversations.

RE loose ends: I'd like to think things would be tied up. But maybe not since last season there were a few things that happened and went nowhere like that Connor guy and the ex-football guy that asked for a job. I can live with that though.

I can't imagine that no one who works on the show has pointed out that Waverly has had not a single mention all season even though Smash was so dedicated to her at the end of last seasonWORD! I hope it's a deleted scene. In any event, it should've been worked in some how some way ( ... )

I'd like to think that Tim's feelings for Lyla in Season 1 were more a reflection/expression of his feelings for Jason (and I really don't mean that in a slashy way, but a friendshippy way), his heartbreak over Jason's injury, and his inability to actually face Jason himself. He's projecting on Lyla, who's the closest to Jason that he has right now, and the only other person who can really understand how lost he feels without Jason right now. I think they were manufactured feelings for her, not really real, and in Season 1 their relationship makes total sense to me, but in Season 2, with Tim all of a sudden freaking in love with Lyla, I just don't get it at all. Bleh. Wonder if maybe TPTB perhaps were bowing down to the huge fanbase that the Tim/Lyla pairing has ( ... )

RE Tim/Lyla: I thought the same way about their relationship thru most of season 1. At some points though I felt like they were trying to say he was in love with her.

RE Tim/Tyra: What you said is true about how she acted. That's why on a second watch, I was questioning why exactly I like them. I still do but not as much as before.

I don't mind the rambling at all. I could talk about this show all day.
