Holy poop, dark armpits are a symptom???? Because the other day my mom was asking me why my armpits were darker than the rest of my skin! She made fun of me! That's AWESOME!! Well, not awesome, but it's great to know what the cause is. Anyway, my collarbone area isn't dark that I know of. Do you have an underactive thyroid too?

no, but the pcos thing that I have has some of the sympotms u described, especially excessive weight gain, plus dark armpits which have to do with insulin imbalance and some other really fun (not)symptoms, so if it's not the thing you think it might be, it could be pcos.

cool cool, thanks for your help. interesting stuff. i think it's probably just hypothyroidism because it does run in my family. also, my armpits aren't that dark, just dark enough for my mom to make fun of me. :D hahah.

yay WW! Im back on WW but im not doing meetings. I fucking hate the meetings. If you have the energy to get up sunday morning, Patty, the leader then is a hoot, but i still cant stand all the middle aged women who worship food that tastes like cardboard. and flip out if they miss a workout. Ick ick ick. SO, im not really doing WW lol. Really im paying the 13.00/week to use their scales and watching what I eat, because 13.00 a week is a lot of money to spend on gaining weight.

And i cant remember where you're going to college? Im sorry! Where are you going to college?

thanks for the tip! the meetings are definitely silly (and a superthick long island accent seems to be the prerequisite for being a leader) but eh, it helps to have an authority figure to answer to each week. hahah. you're not the first person i've talked to who goes each week not for the meetings but the weigh-ins, for the same reasons you gave.

and i'm going to northwestern! :) theater major.

I have hypothyroidism...although not that bad... I basically have all these evil antibodies but nothing else it just stinks b/c I have to be monitored for the rest of my life =P
