So Alison and I were on the phone and she had to hang up for a second because her mother came downstairs to say that she had been up all night throwing up. She called me back and we started joking around, and while I was mid-sentence she said those 3 little words to throw me of my axis

if you both really love each other, you will make it work. it'll be hard but it will be worth it. it'll make your relationship that much stronger when you get back and you will really respect each other.

I talked with Jen Casper about it yesterday and she made a good point. If we were dating for like 2 or 3 years then it would make sense to try and stay together, but because this is a brand new thing, we would basically be testing the waters of what we can and cannot do through emails. If anything I think this would put more of a strain on our relationship as friends more than anything else. The way I see it, if I couldn't make a relationship work with Courtney where her and I would at least see each other on the weekends and sometimes days at a time while I was at Plattsburgh, why in the world would I want to risk it with someone I'm going to be away from 22 hours by plane for 5 months. I think its the fact I care about her too much to not want to lose her, and I think starting something now would inevitably destroy that.
