That is true! I guess I'll have to wait and see until it shows up in spoken English somewhere~ But you're probably right, since the other two have obvious German sounds in their names, it'd make sense that Deino would match.
I'm looking at the full list of names now, many of them are so bad, even worse then D/P ROFL! They are at least making me laugh though, especially "Woobat/Swoobat", "Palpitoad", "Scraggy/Scrafty", "Ducklett", "Deerling", and "Foongus/Amoonguss".
Most of the original names were so much better though, like Deathmask and Deathkan. I'm never calling them "Yamask" and "Cofagrigus", those are terrible! And so many unnecessary changes, like Gear being changed to "Klink" when Gear was already an English word. and Freezio being changed to "Cryogonal" which is HARDER to pronounce.
Braviary is pretty bad too, Wargle alrready sounded like an English name. SAWK is just terrible, makes no sense, and is making die badly! Haha well I couldn't list off my opinion on all the names though, I'd be here forever :P but overall disappointing yet funny, and I'm glad some still kept their Japanese names.
Well to be fair, Gear would have to change since it's already an English word or there'd be no real way to differentiate between the Pokemon and the object...they'd have to make it Geer or something (like Seal > Seel), which is probably actually worse.
I think they probably changed the name for Wargle because it sounds like "Yee haw we Americans are going to WAR!" which is probably not the image they wanted to promote in the American version, so I think they went with the 'noble brave eagle' image instead.
I don't like them very much in general, but after going through this transition with both G/S and D/P, I'm learning that it'll be easier if I just accept them since they're going to become the new standard whether I want them to be or not. ^_^;
