There's always a first time

So tonight I was fired for the first time. Ever. It's not so bad, I have something else lined up and was planning on discussing with my (ex)current employer about how to proceed so that I could continue part time as a fallback (the job lined up is "temporary" and also not official yet). I'm sorry to hear that comrade. No worries, you've got a higher purpose than whatever that job represented. And also, considering skynet's still not online, there are worse ways to be terminated.
When do we get to see you again? I'm not holding my breath, I just don't want to miss it when it happens.

It always sucks getting fired (I still feel the sting of getting fired from the job I had when I was 17). But in this economy there are lots of other people in your situation. I hope the other job works out for you.

Like me! I'm in your situation! Welcome, brother! We would have had jackets made, but we're unemployed, so we have no money to pay for them.

We settled on face-painting.

Firing people in January is standard operating procedure for your former employer. There's not enough in sales to support all of the holiday help, so there's a bloodletting at the beginning of every year.

No, I was told I was one of the three people that were kept on. Hours also suggested this. I had work for the next three weeks. Seasonal folks hadn't worked in two. I violated their set-in-stone lunch break policies one too many times.
