At Hank's approach, she glanced up and smiled brightly, holding up the book she was flipping through. "How good are you at reading music?"

"I don't, really." she admitted. "I mean, I just started this shit. Toca gave me a few tips, and I checked out a book at the school library before winter break started. I do pretty good in bio and chemistry, though? So music's numbers, shouldn't be too hard."
She paused, reaching out to point at the page. "That's a whole note, and that's a sixteenth note...I think that's a rest? And I know that's a treble clef." Scowling again, she tapped the numbers at the head of the staff. "And that's the time signature...Toca said it reads like a fraction."

Pushing it aside, she shrugged and toyed with the plastic-wrapped guitar strap in her hands as she answered. "Just the one...it's, like, MUSIC THEORY FOR THE BRAIN DAMAGED or some shit, real dumbed down. Figured I could use all the help I could get."
Hesitating, she slid a glance to Amelia and shrugged again. "What the hell...let's try a book. Maybe we can both learn to read this shit together or something."
