Hey hey, this isn't the evening of the 4th! It's the evening of the 5th! Where's my event post!?-- you might all be complaining, somewhat half-heartedly because your mod's a scatterbrained geezer and you're kind of used to it. Sorry guys! But here's the post, ready and waiting! FIRST THOUGH-- we've just finished the R:2 Class guide so you have a better understanding of the classes and a visual of what's what! Hope it helps with applications and getting your friends to join. ♥

This is the first installment of a pretty dark overarching plot, which I might add, isn't too late to sign up for (until the 10th, anyway)! Get all the nitty-gritty details below the cut, and prepare for some sudden turbulence in The World! But first, a participation table!

So here's the breaks. There's been some questionable events that seemed a little... glitchy, you know? But The World is real, right? So there's no way things are glitching up! That sort of thinking's what got you stuck here in the first place, all right. And because you went and poked your nose where it shouldn't have gone, you've now been infected with AIDA for quite some time! If you kept participating and picked up a bunch of glitched items, your infection rate is higher, and it'll be more and more difficult to wake you up from THE GIANT COMA YOU'VE FOUND YOURSELF IN!

Oh, but don't worry. The characters themselves? Well, they've momentarily forgotten their past lives and their lives inside of The World. They're in a small but modern town they've lived in all their lives, with other affected characters, attending school and leading very normal, boring lives. But every now and then, when they fall asleep inside of this new reality, it seems they wake up... somewhere painfully familiar. Their senses come rushing back and they're in Mac Anu, surrounded by concerned unaffected players stuck in the same game. It's up to the unaffected characters to convince the affected characters when they wake up every few nights from the comas they've slipped into that they belong here, now, with them. They need to find some way to escape that town they're lulled into.

As the characters look at the town, while before it was familiar and seemed charmingly eclectic, they'll realize it for what it really is: a patchwork of flat and heartless places from everyone's memories, hastily shoved together with pieces chipping, fading, breaking. Revealing... well, let's not go into what it reveals in the nothingspace between everyone's memories. (Think Coraline, in mechanics!) It's ugly, it's disturbing, and you want to go home. Home home, not just Mac Anu-- but even returning to Mac Anu is a damn close second. The fake reality of their school life will begin to crack and peel at the seams, but those with a higher infection rate will have a harder time seeing it for what it truly is and will be more difficult to break from the trance. It's hard to remember things from one reality in the other, but there's enough for everyone to piece together what's going on and help each other.

--Which, is the key to this event! The logs themselves will be organized in three logs, with organized timeline threads like so:

  • AFFECTED log (set in the fake reality) thread #1: Dec 5th & 6th, thread #2: 8th & 9th, thread #3: 11th & 12th, thread #4: 14th & 15th
  • UNAFFECTED log (set in mac anu, wherever the affected fell into their comas and hopefully get gathered together) thread #1: Dec 5th & 6th, thread #2: 8th & 9th, thread #3: 11th & 12th, thread #4: 14th & 15th
  • MINGLE log for BOTH player types (set in mac anu, with the comatose AFFECTED players waking up for six~eight hours to mingle with UNAFFECTED players: inform, support, plan!) thread #1: 7th, thread #2: 10th, thread #3: 13th, thread #4: 16th

In these logs, exploration will be heavy and quicker action tags probably favored! Both tagging styles are allowed due to the interaction-heavy nature of the event and our slow pace. AFFECTED players cannot use the Relic's network during these two weeks unless they're awake from their comas, and will retain bits and pieces of information gathered until it triggers their memory.

There won't be any sign of AIDA, or anything beyond the yet-unexplained nothingspace that will tip anyone off for a virus of some sort, so none of that, now!
