The World R:2 class guide
twin blade
As their names imply, this class uses two short blades in combat. Though their attack power is weak compared to other classes and they have only close range attacks, this is the fastest class of them all. The high speed stats give them an edge over others by letting them easily build up combos against their foes. They also have the widest range of weapon types available to them, with a total of three different weapon types (rapid, pincer, and spinning).
This class has a long history in The World, being one of the only classes to span all the different revisions of The World. Consider it the 'heritage' class!
blade brandier
The Blade Brandier is 'the Mario' of all the combat classes. This class is stronger than the faster, weaker classes of either Twin Blades or Tribal Grapplers, but they're weaker than the slower Edge Punisher and Lord Partizan classes. Wielding one-handed or katana type swords, the Blade Brandier can adapt to all sorts of situations due to their wide range of skills and decent growth.
The Blade Brandier class of The World R:2 is the spiritual successor of the Blademaster class of the original game. This class is favored by many players and is probably one of the most popular in The World!
tribal grappler
Close combat Martial Artists, the Tribal Grappler is the only class that can keep up with the Twin Blades. Though they have a high HP state, their low defense requires players to pay attention in battle. Using gauntlets as weapons can build up combos way more effectively and much faster than other slower classes. They utilize both kicks and punches in their attacks along with energy blasts from their palms once they level up.
Their gauntlets range from looking like lightweight gloves to giant animal paws. Oh, and not all Grapplers have to wear revealing clothing... It just seems to be a pro-wrestling/UFC running theme (maybe).
edge punisher
Looking for a heavy hitter in your party? Go no further than your nearest Edge Punisher. True to their names, this class can definitely deal out punishment with the gigantic broadswords that they fight with. If those swords aren't taller than them, then the swords are almost guaranteed to be wider than the player using them. This class can equip the highest defensive armor but are much slower than the more nimble Blade Brandier.
Consider them the evolution of the original Heavy Blades from R:1! (Skimpy outfits not always included.)
flick reaper
Flick Reapers do precisely that; using their scythes, they 'flick' away their opponents. This class works best at keeping melee attackers away from the player and their party with both physical attacks and shockwaves. This class has little to no advantage at long range and they can be overpowered by a skilled Lord Partizan or Steam Gunner that are attacking at a distance.
Their weapons aren't limited to scythes only; this class can also use axe-like weapons (click
here to see an example!). It doesn't appear to be an especially popular class in the world... Or, rather, very few Flick Reapers have made a name for themselves in The World.
lord partizan
With high physical defense and strong piercing attacks, the Lord Partizan class is every RPG's quintessential tank class. In fact, this is one of the strongest classes in the game-- with their low magical resistance as their greatest weakness. This class is adept at monster-busting with many armor-piercing and anti-air skills, though their skill progression is among the slowest amongst all the classes. Leveling up for the higher-leveled skills will definitely be worth your time.
Lord Partizans are the successors of the Long Arms class of The World. Using lances as big as they are, there are a number of pretty famous (and somewhat eccentric!) Lord Partizans walking around The World.
steam gunner
BOOM! HEADSHOT! Don't let the fancy-looking weapons deceive you; though the rifles used by Steam Gunners tend to look like swords reminiscent of a particular Final Fantasy protagonist, they're really just some fantastical bayonets. Though they can be used for close range attacks with the blade attached, this class' strength lies in it's long-range sniping, both for land and air opponents. They can be considered the physical equivalent of the Shadow Warlock class and have a good balance in stats and ranges.
Steam Gunners are a completely new class developed for The World R:2. Enjoy your romantic western fantasies! (Steampunk goggles not included.)
macabre dancer
The first of three spell-casting classes to be introduced. Unlike Clerics, which focus on healing and support, or Warlocks, which focus on attacking, the spells that Dancers use are primarily buffs or debuffs. They can also learn some healing and attack spells, though not nearly as many as the Clerics and Warlocks respectively. Using two large fans in combat, the battle style used by them resembles an exotic and dark dance.
Of the three magic classes, Dancers are the most balanced spellcasters. Though it seems to be a somewhat unpopular class in The World... it can't have anything to do with the costumes.
NOTE! All three spell-casting classes learn spells at the same rate; Dancers can feel free to use the spells listed on the wiki and fill in the appropriate levels from either the Cleric or Warlock.
harvest cleric
As the 'Cleric' in their names imply, this is the healer class. They use staves for attacking, and while they are stronger than Shadow Warlocks at close range, they're still weaker than every other class. It's best if they stay behind the front lines, supporting and healing their party members. Clerics learn spells very quickly and are eventually capable of completely reviving fallen comrades.
Despite their weak physical power, their magical skills aren't anything to laugh at. Too bad they're still the easiest class for PKs to prey on.
shadow warlock
The last of the three magic classes, Shadow Warlocks are the professionals when it comes to attack spells. They use Grimoires to increase their magic abilities, although due to the fact that, well, they're grimoires, the physical attacks of a Shadow Warlock are rather lackluster. Their healing and friendly buff spells are extremely limited; the point of this class is to floor the opponents with high damage spells.
The spellcasting classes are normally teamed up with one of the physical attack classes for greatest flexibility. While other classes can learn generic spells via scrolls, there are a couple of exclusive spells just for the casters.
adept rogue
The Jack of All Trades and Master of None. In
holyrelic, Adept Rogues are a unique class that can use two of the other classes already listed. The two jobs are unlocked to the player from the start, meaning that Adept Rogues don't need to partake in job extension quests and their costumes don't change. While they're not as effective at each class as each individual class would be, they're the most flexible fighters and can utilize both the two classes in The World that were given to them, as well as the character's canon abilities! Their costumes will always take on the primary class look, and the secondary class is just a weapons & skills only deal.
You don't need a picture for Adept Rogues, they look like their primary class!
