Um, sir? Are the Grandfather paradox and Novikov self-consistency principle vs. the many-worlds interpretations still going to be on the exam?

Good question!

I considered it, yes but that many-worls interpretation can be so broad that I didn't feel I could narrow down a specific answer that would be fair to judge everyone's response against.

Thus, it's going to be an extra credit question. Give me a good theory with well thought out and logical substantiation and you can get anywhere from an extra 1 to 15 points, based on what you give me.

How's that sound?

...extra credit will probably be a good thing.

Oh, don't worry it won't be that bad.

I mean, it's not as if I'm asking you to mock up a working model, right?

Though you know, now that I think about it ...

Do you by any chance know where my projector went? I can't remember if you, or the biology professor borrowed it last.

Who me?

Did you have someone else in mind?

Err, I honestly don't know. What's it look like?

Excuse me, professor? Is this room going to be free around 8:30?

They're using the TA office to store boxes for some reason and there isn't enough room to breathe in there let alone mark papers.

It should be, unless any of my students need help with their projects and or have put together a study group.

justashow March 26 2009, 17:36:23 UTC
I only need a small corner. That isn't full of boxes.

I think I can provide that.

After all, I like to encourage my students to think 'outside the box'.

Will the final cover any specifics on the String Theory?

Reply

handsomejack March 26 2009, 18:11:22 UTC
Expect more specifics on M-Theory but be ready to explain how M-Theory and String Theory relate.

When you have a moment, Professor, I was hoping I could speak with you about auditing a class or two in your department next semester.

Of course! I love having students come and audit my classes. Was there one you were particularly interested in?

Theory of Travel in the Fourth Dimension, actually.

That's a good one, one of my personal favorites because there are so many viable theories to discuss!

I would suggest that if you want to audit that class, stick with just that one. It's a lot of material and I'll spend the first 3 weeks going over current practical theories that are discussed more in depth in the class I'm just wrapping up. So it will be a lot of work in a short amount of time.
