The door swings open, and Jason tips his head inside before coming all the way through the door.

The noise, the smell, the feel of the place.

He smiles.

Gwen looks up from her spot behind the bar.

... Huh.

Here's somebody she hasn't seen before.

He nods his head at Gwen after taking a moment to scope out the room, get a feel of things. A tiny quirk of a smile.

She nods back, eyebrows arching.

"Hey."

"Hey yourself, Madam."

Old dudes trying to be cool. He seems to be laughing at himself for even trying.

"This is a nice place."

Awww, smiling means people are nice.

Les nods at him and smiles back. "Hi."

Yes, that's exactly what it means.

"Well, hello there!" His smile grows just the tiniest bit when his eyes settle on Les. "And who might you be?"

Les says, helpfully, "Umm, my name is Les. Are you new?"

"In a way. I haven't been to this place before. Quite a crowd. It's nice to see people enjoying themselves in these times."

Still smiling. "Jason. I'm Jason. It's a pleasure to meet you, Les."

Karla was playing a bit, earlier.

You know, that thing. That she does her. As her job.

Yeah.

In any case, she's now off to one side of the stage, tuning. She looks up when the door opens.

...Huh. New guy.

Eventually, he wanders over toward Karla, seemingly drawn by the guitar in her lap.

"Now, that is a lovely surprise that makes my old heart happy," he says at the sight of the guitar.

Karla smiles, a bit crookedly.

"Well. Glad I could help with that, then."

With mild interest, "You play, or just a music lover?"

He grins. "A bit of both, a long, long time ago. Long before you were born."

And he is admiring her guitar. "You are one lucky girl. Managed to get an instrument to survive this long."

Armand moves his boots to one side on the table, watching the new man walk in. Human, middle aged, smiling.

Armand watches, his brown eyes sharp and neutral.

He is stopped, at some point in the evening. Stopped, with his eyes closed, face slack and seems to be listening. To either the crowd swarm and chatter around him or Karla on her guitar. Who knows.

And then, he grins. Very slowly.

Armand's eyes never falter, never change. A true wolf's eyes, for all that they are still brown. Neutral, nothing more and nothing less.

Even if the hair on the back of his neck is beginning to tingle.

Kay sinks a little deeper into her chair. That smile. She shivers.

Then straightens. Better than fear.

He passes by her at some point. Glances down at her colorful hair and tattoos.

And he grins.

"Hey," she says, red wristband tucked away, arms crossed in attempt to look cold and not protective.

"Ah, Miss Kay! I can't say I'm surprised to see you here." His grin grows just the tiniest bit. "When I first heard of this place, I had thought of you. It seemed like...your crowd."
