Love the baking hamster icon - it is adorable.

Dresden Files for the Meme.

Thank you! I've felt for a while that I needed a baking icon, and then came across this art by a Japanese artist, and finally got around to making one.

Meme:

Character I love but everyone else hates
I don't think people hate him, but I do think I like him well above a normal amount: Kincaid. He was my favorite thing about Death Masks, and I've been happy to see him whenever he's appeared in the books since (actually, I'm bummed he hasn't been around much.)

Character I hate that everyone else loves
I didn't like Susan and was happy when she disappeared from the narrative (both times), but I'm not sure she was popular with fandom either? I have no interest in the werewolves, but, ditto. I think maybe Sanya is the closest I have to an answer? I certainly don't hate him -- I actually like some aspects of his character quite a lot (the atheist Knight of the Cross thing is neat!) but I find his Russian background, uh, let's say unnecessarily distracting :P

Ship I love that no one else doesThe two ships I actually genuinely ship in ( ... )

So much for "needing to be represented in stuff". XD Tbh, myself I don't really like supposedly 'mine' characters in fiction, too. They kind of throw me off, like unwanted Christmas gifts. I look for/care/cling to those who are similar in mentality/personality rather than in nominal/demographical features.

Maybe Harry getting shot in Changes? I did think that was pretty cool, and I'm not sure how fandom reacted...
Yup, I appreciated it too, though not sure about the fandom reception either.

While I technially get the 'why' about Harry/Marcone popularity, I'm personally 0% interested as well.

I did independently arrive at this headcanon: "The Blackstaff is the Winter Mother's lost walking stick"
Yes!!!

Same, although when 'representation' is actually done well, it can be very neat. (Like, I'm very fond of the Russian character in the Rivers of London books, and I do find it neat to encounter Jewish character in SFF (where they're pretty rare, considering how many SFF authors are Jewish...) But it's like books set in San Francisco -- I love SF-set fantasy if it gets the vibe of the city right, but if they're going to get the details wrong, I'd rather they didn't.

(Have you read Peace Talks/Battle Ground yet? I finished the first, but am still dithering on the latter, even though (or maybe because) I'm spoiled for everything...)

It's pulled me in to a surprising degree! Definitely curious to see where it goes from here!

Yay the masked hamsters are so cute! And the baking hamster, too.

The "glass of your tears" icon reminds me of the Taskmaster episode where they had to win by getting the most tears into a shot glass. (one of the more painfully embarrassment-squicky eps for me, but the show is still a rec. It's on youtube.)

Thank you! :) (Now I just need to decide which of the masked hamsters I actually want to use...)

...Huh. That does not sound like something I'd enjoy watching, but that's an interesting concept I guess...

(Also, I'm glad the text on that icon is readable! I wasn't sure if it was unless one already recognized the quote.)

Ooh, highly approve of your SFF character! And the combination of "Charles the Mad" and "Charles the Beloved" as nicknames sounds kinda intriguing, haha. Sounds like he had a good time of his lunacy?

Meme! (Yay for Chronicales of Amber!)

Character I love but everyone else hates
I don't know if they are hated, but Julian is one of my two favorite characters, and Eric grew on me over the course of the series. Oh, and I liked Ganelon a LOT, and continued to like him after the reveal, which I think may also be a somewhat unpopular opinion? IDK...

Character I hate that everyone else loves
Benedict! I don't HATE him, but he's one of the Amberites I find least interesting, and everyone seems to love him? (starting with Corwin and the rest of the in-universe folks)

Ship I love that no one else does
There's so little fic in this fandom, I don't know how to tell which ships are loved more than others, LOL. My favorites are Bleys/Corwin and Fiona/Julian, which have 4 fics each, which I guess is "no one" enough?

Ship I hate that most ( ... )
