Day 12: In your own space, create your own challenge.
I've tried this with year-round challenges before, and, except for the Community Souced Reading Bingo, which was a lot of fun, that seems too large scale. So I think this time around Iwant to try something immediate, like a meme. Through the confluence of talking about universe fursions with

I took the faction quiz at two different times and got Liozh once and Shuos once... I don't think I have quite the cleverness of the Shuos though!
I love the idea of a kestrel for Miles--small, fierce, maneuverable... it works! I can totally see him trying to get an intimidating daemon, too. :D And oh, interesting thought about Mark! It does seem like daemons aren't born to be a certain shape, they settle based on who their person turns out to be, which is of course affected by their life experiences. I would imagine forcing a daemon into a particular shape would be awful.

Ooh, good call! -- Dumbledore would make a very good Shuos, working behind the scenes, looking out for the greater good, kind of like Zehun, and quietly pulling everybody's strings.
I think I got Shuos once and Nirai once on the factions quiz? Which is approximately what I was expecting, but I definitely don't have the constitution to be a Shuos! Waaay too nerve-wracking and I don't have the aptitude/patience for endless games either.

*nods* It seems like a kind of thing that could be possible in HDM-verse, but very, very traumatic. ...and now I kind of want full fledged Mark fic set in this fusion, as grim as it would be.

.I actually can imagine Margaret LeFay being a Martell herself, with Malcolm Dresden being a Tully and Ebenezer being a Stark (he who passes the sentence wields the black staff, etc.).
Ooh, yeah, I like the idea of Harry's Martell side coming from Margaret LeFay -- that seems really fitting! And his dad does seem like he would've made a good Tully. I do see the "he who passes the sentence" logic you reference with McCoy, but hmmm, I feel like he's a little too comfortable with black ops for me to buy him as a Stark. Maybe another Tully? Or, IDK, Mormont or something? That combination of down-home groundedness and being a badass and a certain pragmatism... I think he reminds me of Old Bear but also generally Mormont feels like a good fit.
Agreed that I could also see Murphy in Arryn.
I definitely feel like most White Court vamps are Lannisters; not sure about Red Court and Black Court are boring are pinging me more like Greyjoy? Targ as a general rule feels good for ( ... )

ASOIAF folks proved a bit different because there is already so much animal symbolism all over the place, it was hard not to trip over that. So I actually started with the Tyrells, who don't get animal sigils, but I'll get to them presently.
Meanwhile, let's start with Dany. Initially I tried to make salamander fit, because of the mythological fire connection, but that wasn't quite right -- I wanted something with metamorphosis but MORE metamorphosis than that. Even frogs didn't quite work for me, though some brightly colored, very poisonous, delicate-looking frog was tempting. Ultimately, I think I want a moth for Dany -- one of those massive fuzzy things that hatch out of equally fantastic-looking caterpillars. Acraga Coa, I think! Plus tell me that caterpillar is not secretly a dragon egg. :D
For Varys, my immediate thought (after dismissing spider) was satani leaf gecko. It can creep ( ... )
