My hamster Asia had her period a couple days after i got her. it freaked me out at first but i found a site online that said it was ok as long as it lasted just a couple days. it lasted only a day (from what i saw anyways

Wettail basically is diarrhea. If your hamster is showing signs of diarrhea, it is very likely wettail. And if the next day you noticed wetness in that area, then it most likely is wettail. You don't have to take her to the vet...just get some dritail from a pet store (like PETsMART). If you're still unsure if your hamster actually has wettail, take your hamster in with you and ask one of the workers in the specialty department if it is wettail, since they deal with it quite a bit and could tell you for sure. In addition to giving her dritail (both orally and in the water), feed her pet block, rolled oats, and dry toast. And change her bedding completely every day.

i had a girl hamster but she never had a period - even though she woudl go into heat.. dont know if some don't show physical signs? she'd just stick her butt up in the air like she wanted some or get really frozen like a statue.. but periods? that's new to me!

I have dwarf hamsters and one of the girls, Dylan got her period twice since i've had her. I think your hamster is fine, but if you see signs of diarrhea, she might have wettail. All my hamsters have behaviour changes every once and a while. Just keep and eye on her.

Hamster pellets can be a little soft, but they harden fast. Nothing to worry about!
