Yeah it's really expensive :/ Like ridiculously. I've found two listings on ebay. The cage is US$57.50 and the shipping is about US$46. Makes me want to cry.
yeah it looks like there is not much space, maybe you can get her a bin .those are pretty good ,you can add a lot of toys in there for her.. plus they are not that expensive, about 10 bucks..
Seriously, I am a sucker for fancy cages and I got a bin. It's the best bet I'm convinced. Also check Craigslist, people are always giving stuff away there - usually cages that are too small but in addition to the bin they work. Just clean them out VERY well to kill all germs. I also noticed that the wheel you have isn't ideal. Try to get one that is solid plastic so her little legs don't fall through and get hurt
( ... )
I can see why she wouldn't like it! Much too vertical. Have you ever thought about using a terrarium or a bin cage instead? They offer much more room and terrariums are relatively cheap. A 20 gallon long shouldn't be more than 30-40 dollars, and offers a LOT of running room. The Imac fantasy looks a little on the small side too, even with the expansions.
Is it hotter in your area lately? I live in Southern California and both of my rats have looked absolutely sad and depressed all day, but it's just because they're lying around and trying to cool off. I'd say she might just be worn out because of all the new experiences. If she doesn't have any other symptoms of illness, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Definitely good on you for keeping an eye out for her though!
I would think dandruff could improve if her fur was kept well-oiled. A good way of doing this is feeding her a piece of bread soaked in olive oil once every 1-2 weeks. It'll absorb into her pores and keep the skin from being so dry.
aw im sorry your hammy is going through a rough spot. maybe you can coax her out with treats? shes really cute. i hope she gets back to her old self soon!
Sorry to hear about your hammy. I hope she starts to feel better soon :) I have the IMAC cage. It's good, but over priced. I don't use mine anymore i much prefer bin cages. You could a huge one, or even get a few and stack them on top of each other and make lots of levels? I do love bin cages they cost me about £5 to make :) and so so easy to clean!
I have two already and i think they are far far better than what i have bought from shops. I spent £70ish of the IMAC and extension and i regret it so much after making my bins :) Good luck with and keep us posted!
