litter boxes?

I've seen a few litter box type things for hamsters and was wondering if they actually work? Has anyone tried these?

some of my hamsters, mostly boys, use them
but the girls wouldnt use them much, they'd rather dig and sleep in them

but one of my boys ALWAYS uses his, but i ended up using certain all natural types of clumping cat litter instead of hamster litter because it was too expensive

My hamsters just slept in them and scuffed the litter out of the box! heh

My hamster didn't get the idea at first. I had to figure out what corner of the cage he normally goes in and put it there. Plus I had to put some of his stuff in there so he'd get the idea. He uses it all the time now.

my boy uses his potty tray although sometimes he puts all his food in it and then piddles on that as well

I like it, but I find it too expensive for me :P
Hamham used it, though.
