Saw Superman Returns, mneh. I guess I expected a movie like that, with the existing fanbase and the decades of legacy to fulfill, to be a bit more...epic. It was pretty lame. The fact that the rules governing superman are largely undefined gives them carte blanche to do whatever they want without explaining themselves, resulting in a meandering ( Read more... )

Ooh...you know, I didn't even really want to see Superman. It didn't intrigue me that much. I guess that's 'cause I'm just not that big of a Superman fan. It didn't get too good of reviews, though, anyway, although I heard that bullet effect thing was pretty cool. :-) I'm debating whether or not to see Pirates or Lady in the Water tonight. Both look really good.

By the way...thanks. :-)

Nathaniel, Lady in the Water is amazing. I'm betting, if I'm even close to pegging your taste in movies, that you'll love this one. Justin Lee and I went to see it this weekend when he was up.

let me know what you think.

yeah, I thought it looked good too, although the reviews it's getting are giving me doubts. I liked The Sixth Sense and The Village, but I didn't like Signs or Unbreakable much at all (all from Shyamalan), and they were saying it's not as good as those. Also complaints that it was silly ("narf" "scrunt") and narcissistic on Shyamalan's part. I'll see it, but I might wait till it comes out on DVD.
