A log crackles in the fireplace, a bottle of merlot flickers in it's light, soup bubbles on the stove, and the last chapters of a good book draw me in. Still, it's barely January and it's warm enough for bike rides to work and lunches on the beach ( Read more... )

It's wrong of me to laugh. I know it is. But I'm laughing anyway. LOL

What kind of soup? I make a pretty good soup with beans and corn and tomatoes and chipotle.

I LOVE chipotle. We're having Japanese curry tonight. Excitement!

That was John Marlow's Nano which i finally ordered off amazon. It's a bit slow for Cyberpunk, and it's rather morbid. But Marlow did a crapload of research to make the whole story out of half truthes and possibilities of nanotech. Plus I've been in a few meetings with the guy recently.

Now I'm onto Greg Bear's Slant... thanks to a certian 5 year acquaintance of yours.

Yeah... Rob really liked Slant. The only Greg Bear I read was The Forge of God, which I enjoyed. It creeped me out, however, because I don't know enough about science to know if it's possible or not. So in my mind, this thing was going to happen. Anyway, I recommend it.

Also, I'm glad I didn't get that for you for Christmas, like I was thinking of doing. LOL ~_^
