Okay, Atspace is acting up again, so we're forced to post the new pages of WBK here for now... :P Pages 228 (the real one!), 229 and 230. Yay, the world didn't explode after all!
Whoo! New pages. Sorry for not commenting on the last couple of updates... But now I'm back! ♥ (I loved your April's Fool joke - it was beautiful! Especially with the little bird above the exploding planet. Hee...!)
And now I'm going to be totally weird and shallow, and say that I love the snooty women's dresses. All of them! The green one... oh, man. I don't care if I have to be a snooty woman in a fantasy world to wear something like that, I still want it!!
Such great expressions in these panels - Dores' mom, as she is speechless for a panel, and then looks down, embarrassed... Yeah, that really does capture how you feel sometimes when the person you're "talking" to scores a really good (vicious) point.)
It's interesting that Elia's mom didn't seem to say what she did because she really wanted to be mean, though. At least that's not how it comes across to me. Hmm. (And again - I love how these characters who are supposed to be related actually look like family!)
Whee! Our most detailed commenter is back. ^___^ (Even though I understand you might have other things on your mind at the moment...) Hee hee hee, I actually love the snooty women's dresses as well - at least the green one. I designed the posh women's clothes in a hurry but I think the way Mattias finally got them down in sketch form was great! Thank you so much for noticing. I was happy with the coloring of them - that particular shade of green and that particular shade of purple, I think they say "wealthy"! As opposed to Dores' mom who wears an apron. And brown pants. *thinks* Would you mayhaps want to see the original three minute sketch of the clothes? :D I could scan

Yes - and then apart from that, this week has been crazy, crazy busy! I have no idea what's up with that, but I think I'm pretty happy about it. Less time to mope!

Ooh, that'd be way cool! Scan ahead, please!
Thanks for interpreting things correctly and letting us know we're not going completely over people's heads!
Hey - you guys are the ones who are so fabulous at expressing things through art that I do get all that! It's not that I'm particularly good at looking at pictures or anything. It's that you guys do really good work!
Oh, and the family thing - it really is awesome! That's one of the sad thing with most TV & movies: you never see real families! So you start getting this weird kind of idea that people who are related don't need to look anything alike, but... they do, don't they? Even brothers and sisters do! So it's really cool that you'

Hee hee! Yeah, and they don't even have names (yet, anyway) so it's easy to simply think of them as "the bitches" and then move on. ;) However, in many stories it tends to be rich = evil, and poor = good-hearted, so we wanted to show here that even though Elia's mom runs with the snotty posh crowd, she's not completely cold and heartless, and just because Dores' mom is the poorer and more stereotypically "round and cheerful" (go' och glad, kexchoklad! XD) character, she's not automatically super kind. And hence we add some depth. :) Hope that worked.
