parents will be pissed

I'm in trouble. Caleb saw a statute of Santa on the way to school and I called him a myth.
"Oh, like Fishtronaut?"

He's now determined to tell his friends Santa isn't real.

I tried to explain why this was a bad idea and he kinda got it. I eventually told him about krumpus in an effort to give him something to talk about other than "Santa isn't real."

DOH!
When it's my turn, I'm ready to tell cmdr_xander that there is a network of Santas helping out the main office in the North Pole.
Santa is real, but he needs help from all of us. (There are 7 billion people, after all.)

But then you'll have to teach him about the network of black ops elves who monitor all the kids to see who is naughty and who is nice.

If you want to be creeped out, know that they make an elf doll/book for parents to propagate just that myth.

I've seen them. They really should have a sign saying "Big Brother is Watching."

You asked...

fishtronaut

He was parsing "myth" as "fictional"

"He was parsing 'myth' as 'fictional'."

I wouldn't really call that wrong...

I used to tell the kids I worked with that the Easter Bunny was Santa's friend and would give a report when he visited too. Really helped with the spring fever.

But it's nice to have high schoolers now. Less of an issue.
