Fuckers. Sounds like my company, where we sure get NO slack around holidays (and there's ALWAYS someone from support in the office, M-F, even on Christmas. Except for the Canadian employees, who generally play the "It's a holiday in Canada, we're not working today" card. I wonder what would happen if we called them on American Thanksgiving, expecting them to be at work.
In my company's defense, 95% of our customers are newspapers, which is a 365 days a year industry. Doesn't make it suck any less.
hm. tell me about it. i work at marriott (event booking center) and we didn't get day off. apparently mr. marriot is mormon. sheesh. but your situation is just plain worse. as IT guy i can't take day off, should server go down. BAD BAD!!!
this is one reason for me to NOT take microsoft certification. being at someone's beck and call. ya know?
