Its all about perspective. When I was a kid, I hated getting roped into yard work. Mowing, trimming, all that shit. I didnt care in the least. Now, its years later, and I have a huge backyard and a huge front yard. Both have been overgrown with moss. The grass hasnt really been tended to either. And it sat wild and untouched for a year and a half.

I can't be certain but it seems to me that the yard is often times our only contact with the primal within ourselves; that little slice of nature we get to call our own. Those of us who need that kind of contact I think probably need the nature that surrounds our houses to be something we admire, otherwise it ends up making us miserable.
That's my take on it anyway.
