It sounds like you reacted to your second Pfizer dose the same way Alicia reacted to her second Moderna dose. Not well at all :(

My second Pfizer dose left me with a sore arm about six hours after the fact and fatigue that lasted about twenty-four hours. I was grateful to get by with only that. George didn't react to his second Pfizer dose at all.

I celebrated your Survivor Idol victory in a post in my LJ! I didn't feel like my brand of enthusiasm would be welcome at Dreamwidth when they announced your win. It actually seemed a bit somber and I felt the need to bust out a few gifs :D

It was an awesome and well deserved victory!!!!

I read that the next one will be at Dreamwidth again. This time I will start commenting early on other's entries so I get more comfortable with leaving feedback over there. It seems like an inclusive group and I never felt comfortable with the idea of commenting on any of the entries since no one knew who I was!

I would have expected this kind of reaction if I'd had the Moderna vaccine, but not for the Pfizer one! Though after I emailed my team (in the 20 minutes while I was up this morning), I got a reply back from one of my coworkers whose wife also got her second Pfizer shot yesterday and was going through something pretty similar. And he said he'd lost an entire weekend to it a few weeks ago. :O ( ... )

Yaaaay congrats! So glad you won! I kind of looked over to DW every day but then nothing ever happened and I stopped looking :D.
I hope you'll feel better soon!

That's probably exactly what it seemed like! The longest pending decision ever!

Thank you for the kind thoughts, and I'm hoping tonight goes better than last night. I won't be stingy with the Advil if things start looking bad...

I had a reaction to both Pfizer shots, but mine wasn't as severe as yours. I took it as a good sign that my immune system is now locked and loaded against covid.

I thought I was in a climate where we could have spring but it's been unseasonably cold the last few days. The saying around here is "don't plant your tomatoes until after Mother's Day." I think it needs to be revised to Memorial Day. Any tomatoes planted this week would freeze.

ANY reaction to the shots makes me think that the actual disease could have hit pretty hard if I'd gotten it, so thank goodness for the vaccine!

Wow-- that's a late cold snap you're having! In most places, that's over sometime in April at the latest. May is a real surprise.

Tomatoes grow really well here, but when to plant them is tricky. If it's still too cold at night, they won't be happy, but if you wait too long, they'll never set. :(

My 2nd Pfizer did the same to me... about 4-5 hours after, my arm was so tender to the touch, and I think it was swollen and felt hot...
I had problems sleeping also, but at least it was my "wrong" side, so it wasn't terrible.

The next day I woke feeling bad and it went downhill from there. Honestly felt like I had the flu -- achy, massive headache, too hot/too cold, chills/sweats, sooooooo TIRED I couldn't keep my eyes open.

By the next morning, I was 99.9% back to normal except some residual headache and arm was still tender (but not as bad).

And from what I read, the "worse" you react to the 2nd shot (no matter which), the better your immune system set itself up against it with the 1st shot -- and being reinforced with the 2nd. So, YAY, immune system!

Yes--that felt very much like a bad flu starting from about midnight onward. Everything hurt too much to sleep, and the hot/cold/hot thing was maddening. And then I was so tired the next day, and achy, and my head was splitting.

But better by bedtime, and back to normal the next day! So, 24 hours of misery seems a small price to pay to avoid getting the actual disease. And I always view those symptoms as being a preview of what the disease itself would have been like, except that it would have been 20X or more times worse. :O
