I'm sad I didn't get to visit stores and look at all the Christmas stuff this year like we usually do

Oh, one of the things I really missed was going out on Black Friday (I know, insane, right?) and looking at all of the weird ornaments and stuff at Cost Plus Imports. Their stock has changed over the last 3-4 years, so that they hardly have anything left of the candy and cookies I used to buy as Christmas treats. But the ornaments were still fun! That's where the occasional, bizarre Chicken-Riding Santa always turns up, and one year I bought what seems to be some sort of carved cornhust dragon that I'd coveted for awhile.

But this year, I didn't make it out until last Saturday, and there was very little of anything left.

At least I'm still getting out for walks and such to see the Christmas lights in the neighborhood...

I read somewhere that because shipping in general has been in chaos for awhile, sales have been little to nonexistent. Usually the TJ Maxx near my work has a blowout post holiday sale. This year it's a whimper, no doubt because they were closed for a good portion of the year and it took them a long while to get new goods in when they did open.

We still have the occasional bare shelf issue at work too.

I can believe that. I didn't do much shopping this year, honestly, the earlier stores start with the Christmas stuff, the sooner I want to be done. /o\

One of the things suffering from lack of supply, unfortunately, is a replacement Kitchen-Aid mixer for the one my husband killed! Amazon doesn't sell the model we want, and other stores were out as of 2 days before Christmas. I guess we're waiting on restock, which could take awhile. :O
