Oh, lord. /o\

I had gum graft surgery yesterday. I'd had it about 9 years ago for a different part of my mouth, but that was with a general anaesthetic. I hadn't fully considered what local anaesthesia would mean.

Oh! I am so sorry you had to go through this. I hope the healing is fast, easy on you, and complete.

*hugs*

Thank you! Boy, the healing is so much easier than tolerating those shots!

Don't think I ever got one on the roof of my mouth. The worst I ever got (and I got 13 teeth taken out with local anesthesia only XD) was in front on the top, right under my nose, to repair my two front teeth which I'd broken. I couldn't feel my nose for hours, it was the worst!

OMG, that is a lot of teeth! That sounds terrible. I only have 24 total (that's all that would fit).

Under the nose sounds pretty painful, I have to admit. Yark.

I once had one from an oral surgeon that somehow nicked the nerve that lets you close your eye, so they had to cover it until the surgery was over. That's when I learned that neural mapping varies somewhat from one person to another, and a fluke like that is possible. :O

Novocaine shots hurt so freaking much :(

I hope your recovery goes well and you don't experience a lot of pain

They do-- they are AWFUL. I think dentists fixate on "Well, they do a really good job of numbing."

Yes, they do, but the process of USING the Novocaine is often excruciating. :( :(
