I'm woefully behind on reading my f-list and posting my own entries. It's been kind of overwhelming since HalfshellHusband broke his wrist, with more to do around the house ( Read more... )

Oh, I'm so sorry! I hope HSH gets better really soon. Poor him. And poor you--it's so hard to have to just wait these things out.

I'm doing NaNo, but work has picked up and so I've not had as much time to do it as I would have hoped. But it's all good. Perhaps I'll get to do some of it this weekend.

The nice thing about NaNo is that while there is a huge goal (not so nice), it can be done whenever you like and isn't mandated for every day.

At least more work means more $$ and increased reputation for you!

I like how you keep saying "dysentery" because it's making me nostalgic for Oregon Trail.

I'm also doing mini_wrimo, but other than hitting my daily 350 goal, I'm not taking it seriously. I've been writing an ongoing, exquisite corpse type of story that makes little to no sense. It's actually been a lot of fun, and it's getting me back into the swing of writing regularly.

You can actually get a t-shirt (from either $6 Tees or Snorg Tees) that has the green-on-black display of oxen pulling a wagon with the banner, "Your party has died of dysentery."

I came along too early for that game, but my kids played the fancier graphical version. A lot.

Your word count is good! I think I crossed 200 once and maybe 300 once, but mostly it's in the 100-200 range. Because getting the words out is always a struggle for me, especially since I'm poking away at a longer story. :O

Poor HSH :( I hope the treatment starts kicking in soon. *hugs* to you, it's so horrible watching someone in pain and not being able to make it stop.

My only November writing challenge is to try and make progress on my WC big bang! /o\ Good luck with mini wrimo!

He seems to be a little better today-- things are at least slowing down a little. But he has been just miserable. Bad enough to break his wrist, but to get sick from hospital germs? Even more unfair!

I saw your note about the Big Bang. If I recall correctly, those are usually about half of a NaNo novel length, which is still a tremendous amount of words! I'll be rooting for you. :)

Oh, K. *hugs* I am thinking of both you and G. I hope he turns a corner today. Terrible. :(

I am writing, but I am always writing. NaNo is just slightly more focused. Looking forward to Idol starting, too.

He IS a little better. At this point, just stretching out the time between attacks is a huge improvement. 3-4 onslaughts a day instead of 9-10. :O

I'm hoping Idol will wait a little longer, since everything is so overwhelming right now. And that write-every-day thing is cutting into my sleep!

Ooh, yeah! on the icon. Rowr!

My writing challenge is time. I have done a little. Better than no writing.

That C-Dif bacteria is evil! The Mothership has had it off and on since August.

Oh, that's exactly what HSH has! I can't imagine an elderly person going through that-- it's made him incredibly sick, and he's not quite 60 yet. Really hard to kill, too. I hope your mom is able to beat it. :(

It's nasty indeed. I hear there's a stool donation technique which involves the healthy person donating stool and that gets injected into the patient. It gives the patient " good bacteria". Sounds weird but I hear it's successful. I hope we don't have to get to that stage. Hopefully she passes the sample test, and that's the end of that. AW
