Call it luck, persistence, habit or ~magic~, but Anders didn't seem to have much trouble finding Nathan in the preserve lately. This time, he heard Nathan's voice before he could see him, and wondered what he was doing until it became clear as he came into view.

Anders stood on the edge of the clearing for a moment listening to him read before he cleared his throat to catch Nathan's attention. Barging in on him just then seemed faintly rude.

"Hi there," he called. "Are you busy?"

"No," Nathan said, looking up and shaking his head. "Not really. Just proving my intelligence by reading maybe every seventh word of a book meant for infants."

It wasn't quite that dire or a book for someone that young but he could poke fun at himself.

"It wasn't that bad," Anders said mildly. "Sounded like you were getting through at least four words at a time. And you didn't stutter on the thes."

If it had been that bad, he wouldn't have teased about it.

"Not that you heard, at least," Nathan joked, sitting back against the log. "Sometime soon, I might even be able to write your name as well as mine."
