[But it IS awfully hard, though, so Toothless works his jaws a bit with a myammyammyam noise, trying to chew. But jeez, these scales are awfully hard.]

[Needless to say, the rock doesn't hit Toothless... but he does sure as hell NOTICE it.]
[Head whipping around, he narrows his eyes and lets out a muffled growl. If he'd still had his ear-like flaps, they'd have been pinned back. But as such, he just hunkers down and bats a hefty spray of sand in Machi's direction with both arms.]

The sand falls sadly short, spattering on the shore and grass with a faint paff of wet grit. Machi neither moves nor reacts, standing and facing Toothless with an expression that is as dispassionate as it is disinterested; he acts for all the world like he doesn't even know it happened.
But of course, he does, and he... well, actually, he's a little bit alarmed.
Pathetic as that was--and that was pretty pathetic, Toothless--he's reminded briefly of the crazy people who live and starve and die on the streets of Borginia--the ones who think things are other things, or that things are or aren't where they aren't or are.
This could be bad.
Or it could just be really annoying.
Rather than turning tail and running (which would give up his act and also invite pursuit), he chooses to stand his ground, stoic expression flat and unmoving--he doesn't look very impressed.]
[Well, Machi may not look impressed, but he's not actively throwing something at Toothless anymore, so... as far as the dragon-turned-human is concerned, that means he must be appropriately intimidated.]
[Just to be sure, he hunkers down further in the sand and lets the fish slide out of his mouth, pinning it with one large hand, before curling his lip at the silent boy and making a few possessive grunts.]
[That's the noise he makes as he tries to suppress his gag reflex and continue to choke it down. It's not working though. But he stares defiantly at Hikari the whole time.]
[JUST WATCH. HE WILL SWALLOW THIS FISH! >8( .... EVENTUALLY.]

The pianist is suddenly caught in a bind, though; he can't do or say anything under the cover of his supposed blindness--he can't even react.
