Jaina... Jaina left. I don't blame her; this wasn't her kind of place and I always sort of felt like we were playing house. It wasn't like it's ever worked out for us before, after all. I was stupid to think this time would be different, that I could change. But when was the last time anything good happened in my life?

Thank you. Lover and best friend. No, it's fine to ask. I guess I just meant that, well, we've had this sort of on and off relationship for years and the way it was working out here just seemed too perfect to be real. Like it was all just make believe.

You are most welcome. ...and perhaps it may be a small comfort, but I can understand to a degree what it is you are going through. It is a difficult thing to live with when reality sets in.

Thanks. We've both left each other before, but never when there was a kid involved. I had a rough childhood; I was sort of looking forward to a chance to help someone else have a good one. But you're right about reality; I need to stick to that, I suppose.
