Well, see, now, the skrewts were Dubledore's idea, really. He came down to me house and asked me ter come up with a beast suitable fer the Tri-Wizard tournament's third task.
I wanted ter get it right, so I had ter breed a couple o' dozen o' th' things, jus' in case. Thought I'd kill two birds wi' one stone, see, and get the students ter look after 'em an' help me find out what they liked ter eat and ter help 'em get their exercise.
Dangerous? Bah! It wasn' anythin' you lot couldn' handle!
