considering the summer is our downtime to get over football fatigue, have some news to contribute to your perezidente & co.-saturated exhaustion! (mostly as a way to generate and stimulate conversation for those who may not be involved in other social media outlets and aren't keeping up with the footie world on their own)

AND OMG. BEING A CAPTAIN SHOULD COME WITH TIME! I SO BELIEVE THIS FROM THE DEPTHS OF MY WHITE HEART! I just think it works. It means that a player with an in-depth knowledge of what it means to be a Madridista will be captain. Most of the time that captain will have won and lost in the white shirt, on small and on big occasions and felt the crowd react to it all. I think that is important. I think that is vital. Added importance comes from the fact that Perez changes managers like underpants and so we need something that is continuous, both fan and player alike. Teams often feel thrown together after every summer. Having a captain who has been there, done that, and experienced it in white is important to hold the team together, especially when the media jumps down our throats. Bale would not receive this amount of bile at any other club. Having a captain like Casillas to say 'ignore them, they do this' must have been a huge boost. Plus, it does not take an armband to lead on the pitch. Cris ( ... )

I had never actually considered this (I'm a flop fan omg lmao) but MTE. YES TO THE NTH DEGREE. I completely see why seniority is something important with tradition but then it also feels like something that isn't just based on tradition?? Like, it's a really weird concept to me that captaincy doesn't necessarily merely mean being the "oldest" squad member in the line-up (so to speak in terms of longevity, of course). Like I obviously feel like Cris is one of the most important players Madrid have ever had and really does define part of this generatio/time frame like Bernabéu, Raúl, Di Stéfano, Sanchís, ofc Iker (but also etc). did, and he has gone through a looooot with Madrid ( ... )

And a general thing - lols at the idea that it would be Rafa who made the decision to change the system. No way that decision would be made without Flo's consent. Except of course if it goes wrong and turns out to be unpopular. Then it will have been aaaaall Rafa's decision ;-)

nope. wrong continent and hemisphere.
If the unthinkable becomes true, who should take the captain's armband: Marcelo or Cris? Why?
LALALALALALALA -- i'm not listening! *fingers in ears* -- LALALALALALALA! (that said, i believe in seniority and el capi sunshine would be a miniscule bit of a balm to soothe my otherwise shattered heart.)
What are your expectations of this transfer season? Who do you want Flo to invest in? Who do you think he will really buy instead?
my expectation is that iker will get effed over. i hope i'm wrong. i want a decent defender (or two). i have no idea what flo will do and i've given up trying to figure the man out. but between him and rafa, i haven't felt this uncomfortable and apprehensive in years.
On a scale of -100 to nope, how ready are you for this season?
negative seventy billion.

I love Varane and Pepe. I think they are okay but not as great as Sergio. (And the few games Nacho played were a joke, he's too tame.) (That being said I love Nacho too...)
*and we need a left-back. omg help we need so many players and Flo is gonna buy someone stupid.
