Musing about A&S projects

As I gear up for Northern Lights, I'm thinking about A&S projects. More specifically, I'm thinking about what's been done, what hasn't been done, and what's made people ooh and aah. I wish the poll was ticky boxes, because I make displays up for demos, enter A&S, and frankly just do stuff because ... Well, I was going to say because I enjoy it, but it's more because things like weaving ground me in an increasingly stressful world. (Need to graduate. Urgh.)

I wasn't sure what to put for overdone because ... well, take tablet weaving and my personal experience. I entered last year as a novice. This year, I entered brocaded and 3/1 broken twil weaving entries as a very not novice.

I will probably enter tablet weaving one more time, to see if I can score a perfect score (a tiny itch to scratch), but after that I've moved on. In this case, either to costuming or calligraphy.

To me things are overdone when the same people are entering the same category year after year after year, with minor tweaks. When it's constantly new people trying out what are -- to them -- new things, it doesn't feel nearly as overdone to me.
