1) Reply to this post with your haiku in the comments. No links to entries. (The only exception to this is if your serial haiku won’t fit into one comment-in that case, post as many as will fit in the comment, and then link to the full set.)
2) Use the subject line. List how many haiku are in your comment, and what characters/pairings appear in them. You don’t have to list haiku titles or prompts (those can go in the comment body), but you must list all characters/pairings. Exact format below.
2) Prompts are 100% optional. Seriously. They’re just here to inspire. Interpret a prompt however you want-they’re listed with a | symbol instead of a / slash so that you can go gen, het, slash, femmeslash, crack, familial, whatever.
2b) In that same vein, if you use a prompt and don’t end up using the characters it prompts for, that’s fine. It’s not like anyone’s going to check. *g* The prompts are pretty much a free-for-all, anyway. And if you’ve previously written Heroes haiku, feel free to post them here, too.
3) If you write something longer than a haiku inspired by one of these prompts, you may drop a link in the comments, but no more than one sentence of a teaser, and you must label for what prompt you use, pairing, spoilers, and rating, just like if you were posting to a fic community.
4) We are not the haiku police. You are encouraged to use this form to stoke your own creativity. Write single haiku, traditional haiku, dialogue haiku, conversations between characters, serial haiku... whatever tickles your fancy. If you’re having trouble with counting the 5-7-5 syllable structure, you might try a syllable counter. Of course, 5-7-5 in itself is only a rough guideline, too. Because writing Japanese forms in other languages, you know, not an exact art.
4b) Tanka and other short forms are also welcome. It’s just that haiku-and-other-short-forms-of-Japanese-poetry-athon wasn’t quite as catchy as haikuathon.
5) Label for spoilers from 2x08 onwards. It would be appreciated if you remember to label for 2x07 spoilers, too, but not required.
6) FORMAT YOUR COMMENT PROPERLY.
Example subject line format:

In other words, Title (Character) or 0 Haiku (Character 1/Character 2). This helps us bookmark your entries properly. List the prompt somewhere in the body of your comment, as well, and if you don’t use a prompt, write (prompt: none).

1) Reply to this post with your haiku in the comments. No links to entries. (The only exception to this is if your serial haiku won’t fit into one comment-in that case, post as many as will fit in the comment, and then link to the full set.)
2) Use the subject line. List how many haiku are in your comment, and what characters/pairings appear in them. You don’t have to list haiku titles or prompts (those can go in the comment body), but you must list all characters/pairings. Exact format below.
2) Prompts are 100% optional. Seriously. They’re just here to inspire. Interpret a prompt however you want-they’re listed with a | symbol instead of a / slash so that you can go gen, het, slash, femmeslash, crack, familial, whatever.
2b) In that same vein, if you use a prompt and don’t end up using the characters it prompts for, that’s fine. It’s not like anyone’s going to check. *g* The prompts are pretty much a free-for-all, anyway. And if you’ve previously written Heroes haiku, feel free to post them here, too.
3) If you write something longer than a haiku inspired by one of these prompts, you may drop a link in the comments, but no more than one sentence of a teaser, and you must label for what prompt you use, pairing, spoilers, and rating, just like if you were posting to a fic community.
4) We are not the haiku police. You are encouraged to use this form to stoke your own creativity. Write single haiku, traditional haiku, dialogue haiku, conversations between characters, serial haiku... whatever tickles your fancy. If you’re having trouble with counting the 5-7-5 syllable structure, you might try a syllable counter. Of course, 5-7-5 in itself is only a rough guideline, too. Because writing Japanese forms in other languages, you know, not an exact art.
4b) Tanka and other short forms are also welcome. It’s just that haiku-and-other-short-forms-of-Japanese-poetry-athon wasn’t quite as catchy as haikuathon.
5) Label for spoilers from 2x08 onwards. It would be appreciated if you remember to label for 2x07 spoilers, too, but not required.
6) FORMAT YOUR COMMENT PROPERLY.
Example subject line format:
