I feel your pain. I'm in Honors Bio, and we went around saying what we all planned on doing. Most of them are pre-med, one's pre-vet, and I just get confused looks when I say teacher. I definitely get the idea that they think they are far more ambitious and smarter than me.
Too bad they're wrong...just as wrong as those verbose idiots in your English class (I have my share of them too).
When one of my mom's co-workers found out that my dad was a teacher (back in the day), she said, "Those who can't, teach." Too bad that's totally not true, especially based on the shining examples of educators we had at LHS.
I think some pre-med, pre-vet, etc. majors forget that they wouldn't be where they are without those who majored in science, English, history, and math and chose to become teachers. Ed. majors are pretty much amazing.
