Quinn had a certain life planned out when she was in high school. She was going to go to Yale, study drama, come out top of her class and go onto a career she loved. She was an amazing student during her high school years, a cheerleader and just overall loved around the school. Life is funny though and sometimes, certain things in life happen and ( Read more... )

Sam was a High School senior though part of him was honestly scared he'd end up repeating. He knew his grades weren't good and for all the tutoring he had in other classes, some still were a struggle for him. Like English. When he looked at the pages and the words contained there sometimes he couldn't find focus. Other times it looked like the words were practically dancing across the page and he had to chase them with his eyes, try to capture them and slot them in to order. Sometimes it took all of his focus on just trying to read the words that it meant he struggled to take in what he was reading ( ... )

Quinn was used to the way the boys in her classes looked at her and she would at times catch a glimpse of Sam watching her, but she paid no attention to it. Sure, he was good looking, but that meant nothing. She was his teacher and he was her student. At his answer, she raised an eyebrow, knowing that he was just guessing. She took a step closer to his desk, a hand on her hip. "You're half right. Romeo was eighteen, but Juliet was only thirteen," she went to walk by Sam, to go down the aisle of desks. She stopped though and settled a hand on his shoulder, giving it a light squeeze. "Good try, Sam, but next time, try not to just simply guess," she smiled at him before she continued walking. "Right now, I want you to find a partner and recite Act I back and forth to each other," she saw no one moving and she clapped ( ... )

When she stepped closer to his desk he knew his cheeks flushed a deeper red. Her touch to his shoulder had him almost letting out a squeak in response. He had to bite hard on his bottom lip and pinch his leg as his entire self tingled and trembled from her touch. He knew his crush was a pretty big one. He had it bad for his teacher and it only got worse. Of course, with him biting on his lip he couldn't let out a verbal response so he simply nodded and sank back in his seat a little, as if trying to hide back. That way, hopefully, nobody would notice his flush ( ... )

Quinn looked down at a few papers on her desk, jotting down a few notes here and there for things she wanted to still teach, but when she glanced up, she saw that Sam indeed was the odd man out and was left on his own. She sighed, brushing her hair back. "Sam, come up here and bring a chair. I'll be your partner," she said, turning her own chair to the side, crossing her legs at the knees as she waited for him to do as she instructed.
