Rather long post about module choices.

For those of you who can't remember/don't know, I'm studying Scriptwriting.  I don't really like acting, I'm not very good at it and I don't tend to enjoy spending long periods of time with large amounts of drama students.  It also takes me a long time to read anything and even longer to understand it, making studying novels frustrating, though not ( Read more... )

I love my hair too.. I need to find someone with a camera before it goes all scrobbly..

You've got some tricky choices to make.. I cannot offer anything constructive. So Good luck.

Ps. John Lewis has the best buttons ever. I didn't get many because several were running out, but the lady said there will be buttons delivered tomorrow. However, I don't think I'll be able to button shop since I have an exam this time next week.. I'm running out of time.

I'm someone with a camera.

And I'm okay to wait for shopping to occur. I, too, should do some revision. Thank you for scouting. I can imagine John Lewis' button section to be awe-inspiring.

PS. UCU is Undergraduate credit units.. So Victoria is right, its how many credits it gives you. as a 3rd year you can do 4 30 Credit units, or 6 20 credits

For backup choices, if it was me, I would totally go with the one you're scared of. Because if you do end up doing it, by the end, you'll have directed a play. Which, regardless of your uni career, is an awesome life experience and a pretty cool thing to put on a CV. And also, if you're in a theatre and the director is suddenly taken ill and someone shouts, 'can anyone here direct a performance?' you'll be all, yeah, I can do that. It sounds like a lot of work but in a really cool way.

It does sound like it would be scary but satisfying. Plus you can tell other people what to do and they have to listen.

if you look in the unit catalogue online it says ucu next to each tiny description, all of mine said "20" so i'm guessing it's something to do with the credits each unit is worth. not totally sure, though
i can't really offer you any advice on what to choose as i just chickened out of creative writing :/ and all of mine clashed, but i handed it in anyway :/

scramble for actors, you say? if you need somebody to act like a pirate, i can get dramasoc to give me a reference :P

Why are there no poetry modules?! Why is the UEA's idea of literature solely dependent on novels?! Sigh...

I think housemate Hannah did the Rilke and Virgil modules and I seem to remember her saying that the Virgil one was good...

I agree with the people saying you should direct a play.

Also, good day or bad day? Dammit woman, we need to know.
