At some point during the Christmas holiday, am considering running a D&D or maybe WoD game for a couple of my London friends, who are curious about gaming.  One of them has played Mage: The Ascension before, a couple of them play Warcrack and/or City of Heroes and various console games.  I have never run a proper game completely on my ( Read more... )

bens thoughts on games - What kind of game will they like? Are they more likely t want to hit stuff, investigate stuff/solve puzzles or roleplay/interact with random NPCs. Also will they prefer high fantasy (D&D) more real-world (WoD) or what.

consider pre-statting, its a bit of effort but can a lot of time later on, it also means you know what the players can do.

run a mock combat before you runi it, you never know the rules as well as you might think.

try and make the game not look too linear (allow the players to feel that they have choice, even if it is just that doing the non-plot would be a bad idea)

more may come later

Make model house? That is a pretty cool ambition. Any particular style of model house?

One with a battle grid on the floor. I was considering Norwich-style house, or maybe just typical doll's house layout.

You didn't bother me, it was nice to see you and have company. I hope I didn't give you my cold.

I know I may 'ham up' my Shannon-grrrs a little but his attitude to Ian really weirds me out.
