I've kind of been moping since the swimming ended. I keep trying to figure out whether there are other televised swim meets, but so far no luck. On the other hand, my family was probably going t kill me if I made them watch another night of swimming.
I, too, read Bullet first and god did I love it. By the end, I cried because I couldn't let them all go - and this is only going to be worse when the series ends next week. I am going to be such a mess.
As for this episode: it was like sex. And omg we so needed the visual of Brad on his knees, half naked, looking up with that *grin* and I think Nate knows exactly what I'm talking about here.
Also? I know the real Nate Fick is a conservative Republican, but I would totally hit that shit based on this book.
Me too. And it's kind of fun how it's so easy to be read as secretly gay what with his love for the ancient warriors of Greece and his rooming with VJ and his adoration for Jim. The composite creature of Nate Fick that GK book and series and Bullet create is just pure and utter love.

I think Simon Jones is a Brad/Nate shipper. First he leaves them alone by the hummer after the nightly debrief, and then they bond over the latrine and then Brad gives the kids beefaroni so he can wander off to give Nate *his* surprise. And then there's the bit with the plane, where we only see Nate for two seconds, but he's just staring and Brad and in Brad's head he's totally flying around hummming 'He loves meeeeeeeeeee! He loves meeeeeeeeeee!'
