Today I am working on my yuletide story. Finally. I have 500 words 716!. Only 284 to go. Or something.

You all seemed real keen on last week's Friday Five of Awesome, so in honor of me slogging through my story I'm presenting the Thursday Five of Awesome and Yuletide Power!, you know, for motivational purposes.

Black Steel! Classic rap! There are days when I think my entire f-list likes one rapper (Eminem) and then you post, and I want to KISS YOUR CHEEKS.

I like Em, don't get me wrong. He's got a good flow, but he's not Biggie. Or Tip at the height of Tribe Called Quest. He's not Doug E Fresh or Mos or Talib -- or Mos and Talib together! He's not anywhere near all that brilliance, but you know, he's not bad either. Most people just assume rap is all bling and bitches and hoes and guns, like they assume all country is all shot guns and somebody ran over my dog, so they miss out on the Dixie Chicks and Lyle Lovett or the alt country awesome that is Whiskeytown or Wilco.
